DSRC PUBLICATIONS PROMOTE VISIONARY IDEAS ALONG WITH DIVERSE INTERESTS.

VISION

Through the DSRC archives, along with the substantial program history of organizations like Houston Institute for Culture, the Artery Media Project and others, the project has the potential to do much more than present materials from its extensive archives and collections; but to also promote the visionary ideas explored by the organizations through their programming and research. The on-line feature magazines, websites, and even print projects, like the "Dispatch from Fort Worthy", will provide editorial coverage and opinion on the best visions.

In keeping with the overall goal of the project to provide a positive impact on the public and the way people access and use information, the Digital Story Resource Center will promote what it considers to be the best, positive visions for education and community improvement. The focus will largely be limited to the main cities and regions that DSRC archives cover and its publications serve.

The current visions we support in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and New Orleans include:

--Create a great, innovative and international museum of culture in a major Texas city.
See Imagine a Museum.
See Vision for Houston.

--Complete bike trails to connect Dallas and Fort Worth (the Trinity "superhighway"), and open "bike freeways" in Houston.
Stay tuned for informative links.

--Restore community and environment in New Orleans by removing I-10 elevated between Tulane Ave. and Franklin Ave.
Stay tuned for informative links.

There are up to 10 more innovative and visionary projects that DSRC will promote and cover in its efforts to improve communities, such as the renovation of Fair Park and revitalization of South Dallas communities. The projects DSRC volunteers support are key to improve education and quality of life, support diverse interests, and have vast economic benefits.

The Digital Story Resource Center publishes on-line journals, feature magazines and print publications, maintains archives, provides conservation and documentary services, and offers classes in photography and digital storytelling.
